- Possessive Pronoun

Possessive pronoun is the pronoun which shows possession. The English Possessive pronouns are mine(milikku), yours(milikmu), hers(miliknya(pr)), his(miliknya(lk)), ours(milikkami/kita), theirs(milik mereka).

The examples are as follows:

1. This book is mine. (Buku ini milik saya)
2. This is mine. (Ini milik saya)

3. This car is hers. (Mobil ini miliknya(pr))
4. This is hers. (Ini miliknya(pr))

5. This pen is yours. (Pulpen ini milikmu)
6. This is yours. (Ini milikmu)

7. This house is ours. (Rumah ini milik kita/kami)
8. This is ours. (Ini milik kita/kami)

9. This food is theirs. (makanan ini milik mereka)
10. This is theirs. (ini milik mereka)

Possessive Adjevtives

Possessive adjectives in English are personal pronouns showing possession which are placed before a noun. The forms of possessive adjectives in English are different from those of subject abd object pronouns. The English possessive adjectives are my, your, his, her, their, our and its.

(Possessive adjective dalam bahasa Inggris adalah jenis personal pronoun yang letaknya mendahului noun. Bentuknya berbeda dengan subject pronoun atau object pronoun. Possessive adjective bahasa Inggris adalah my, your, his, her, their, our dan its)

Look at the examples :

1. my car ('mobilku')
2. your car ('mobilmu')
3. his car ('mobilnya ['laki-laki]'}
4. her car ('mobilnya [perempuan')
5. their car ('mobil mereka')
6. our car ('mobil kami/kita')
7. its color ('warnanya [selain manusia]')

Subject and Object Pronouns

A. Subject Pronouns

The subject pronouns are I, He, She, You, They, We,It. I, He, She, You, They, and We are personal pronouns while It is the pronoun of singular noun). Look at the examples of the use of subject pronouns:

1. I am a teacher.
2. She works in a bank.
3. He went to jakarta last week.
4. You must be here.
5. They are sleeping.
6. We are happy.
7. It is a book.

B. Object Pronouns

In English The forms of pronoun in the object position are different from those in the subject position except You which is still the same. The object pronouns are: me (for the subject I), him (for the subject He) , her (for the subject She), you (for the subject You), them (for the subject They), us (for the subject We) , it (for the subject it).. Look at the comparison between subject pronouns and object pronouns below:

1. I met him. (subject = I)
...He met me. (object = me)

2. He met me. (Subject = He)
...I met him. (object = him}

3. She met them. {subject = She)
...They met her (object = her}

4. You met them. (subject = You)
...They met you (object = you)

5. They met me. (Subject = They)
...I met them. (object = them)

6. We met them. (subject = We)
...They met us. (object = us)

7. It is my book. (subject = It)
... I read it. (object = it)
